Canyon Street & Utah Ave. Road Improvements Project

 

Please take notice that the City of Hildale in Washington County, Utah invites all interested and qualified contractors to submit bids for construction of the Canyon Street & Utah Ave Road Improvements Project, which will serve to improve the safety and availability of pedestrian access to schools and parks. This project includes approximately 3,500 feet of new bike lane, curb, gutter, and sidewalk, including driveway aprons, pedestrian ramps, and light grading, and a school crossing with raised crosswalk. Some portions of the project will require tie-ins to existing curbing and/or sidewalk. The contractor will be responsible for preparing subgrade between existing edge of pavement and the new proposed curb and gutter.

 

This project is funded in part by a grant through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, in conjunction with the Utah Department of Transportation Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program. The contractor will be required to comply with all federal labor standards and attendant laws, including the payment of the most current Davis-Bacon wages and compliance with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, which requires grant recipients and their contractors to provide employment opportunities for lower income persons and small businesses. Local, minority and woman owned business owners are encouraged to bid. The lowest responsible bidder will be selected.

 

Sealed bids for a single prime contract will be received at the Hildale City Hall, 320 East Newell Ave, PO Box 840490, Hildale, Utah 84784 until 4:00 pm local time on Tuesday, September 22, 2021, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.

 

Bidding documents and specifications may be viewed and downloaded online at www.sunrise-eng.com (registration required); or at the office of the Engineer, Sunrise Engineering, Inc. 11 North 300 West, Washington, Utah 84780, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

 

Any notices regarding changes / addenda to the Project Documents will be sent to the email address(es) associated with the Bidder’s registration. Bidders are responsible to maintain accurate contact information and check the Plan Room website often to receive updates or additional information.

 

A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 am local time on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the Hildale City Hall, located at 320 East Newell Ave, Hildale, Utah 84784. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but is not mandatory.

 

Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
